Every opportunity is a learning step for EYFS Children. Playing in a sand pit is a great way for children to build a number of different skills, both physical and social. Sand play is very tactile, and helps children learn about textures, develop fine motor skills, develop good hand-eye coordination and use resources appropriately.
Children work together as a team to build e.g a river, sail plastic boats, volcanoes, sand birthday cakes etc. as they continue to exchange ideas in order to make the game more fun and keep it going
