The Year 2 children dived headfirst into the thrilling world of 2D shapes during their Maths lessons. Expanding their knowledge beyond squares, rectangles, and triangles, they eagerly embraced pentagons, hexagons and octagons, carefully comparing and sorting these intriguing shapes based on their unique characteristics.
To bring their learning to life, the children embarked on an exhilarating shape walk around the school, enthusiastically identifying various 2D shapes nestled within everyday objects. This hands-on experience reinforced the idea that mathematics is intricately woven into our surroundings.
As part of a creative project, the children meticulously traced and cut out common 2D shapes on magazines, ingeniously assembling them to form a beautiful cityscape of Nairobi. This artistic endeavour seamlessly integrated with their Geography lessons, resulting in a visually striking testament to the children's ingenuity and artistic flair.
