World First Aid Day Celebration: A Day of learning and Empowerment

21st September 2024

On Monday 16th of September, BTH celebrated World First Aid Day, an event dedicated to equipping children with essential life-saving skills. The day was a success marked by laughter, engagement and newfound knowledge.

Each class was able to watch videos on various First aid procedures and later demonstrate them to each other throughout the day. They learnt how to apply bandages, splints, triangular bandages, first aid for someone who has fainted, and also use the recovery position.

Children were also encouraged to make the First Aid Kit items at home for example bandages made of old sheets, and splints. The teachers were able to report on how engaged the children were with many expressing interest in learning more first aid skills.

The day was an empowering experience where the children learned not only how to respond in case of an emergency but also with confidence to help others.
