In an inspiring display of creativity and sustainability, Year 11 physics students have turned recycled materials into a stunning water feature for the school grounds. This project, part of their applied physics curriculum, showcases the practical application of science while promoting environmental responsibility.
The centerpiece of the fountain is a repurposed, oversized glass bottle, ingeniously used to create a cascading water effect. Surrounding the bottle, the students incorporated a network of old pipes to channel water, demonstrating their understanding of fluid dynamics. A durable plastic basin, previously destined for landfill, serves as the fountain’s reservoir, while smooth, colorful pebbles provide both filtration and aesthetic charm.
