Unlocking young minds:The power of playing and Exploring in Early years

7th March 2026

Playing and Exploring is a cornerstone of effective teaching and learning in Early Years .At Braeside Thika in our Creche class we created enchanting environment bursting with diverse resources like building blocks, squishy sensory trays, playdough and more which are gateways to discovery where children experiment freely, follow their curiosity and learn through joyful movement .

In our class the wonder of play in action is witnessed. We observe and support by stepping in just enough to extend the fun turning “I cant” into “look what i did”. Play based learning boosts brain development, language skills and school readiness.

Guided by the Teachers, the children built essential skills such as cognitive growth, social mastery, physical confidence and emotional resilience and are able to manage feelings, gain independence and embrace new challenges.

Shy beginners become bold explorers and are ready to thrive. We prioritise safe inclusive spaces tailored to every child's pace. Together we champion playing and exploring as the heart of the early learners' growth
