Unlocking learning through music in early years

5th July 2025

In Early years, music is more than just fun-it is a foundation for learning , as it links to the EYFS areas of learning.

Singing builds vocabulary and supports sound awareness.Playing instruments and moving to music enhances coordination and motor skills. Music also encourages emotional expression and social interaction.

At Braeside Thika , our well-equipped music area invites children to explore a range of instruments freely. This hands-on experience enhances their curiosity and confidence. Creche children were absolutely thrilled as they explored different musical instruments from tapping drums to shaking maracas. Their excitement filled the room.Their joyful faces, bright smiles and enthusiastic laughter said it all.It was truly a heartwarming sight to see music bring so much happiness.
