”Understanding Of The World” Day In EYFS

12th October 2021

Magnifying glasses, torches, I pads, experiments, cameras, I wonder why...?   Ooh! It’s understanding of the world day, in early years! Buying and selling was real as children explored our fully stocked ‘mama mboga’ stand. The communication and language was evident as children were able to use vocabulary such as Visa Card, cash register, Pounds, Shillings and change

The children were imaginative and creative at the junk area as they explored and exercised their fine motor skills. We had a special invite for people who help us around the school like the painter, gardener, cleaner, carpenter, chef, and nurse. The children were confident to raise questions and seek clarification.

The children showcased their own experiments/projects confidently like sinking and floating; projects about the surrounding and volcano eruption.

Ooh and that was not all the children excitedly explored the technology room which had the dark nook, Ipads, torches and magnifying glasses. They displayed skill by pressing parts and lifting flaps to achieve effects.

Last but not least, there was the science corner, they talked about melting defrosting flavor, it was lovely as they observed ice turn into water.
