Time to Dance

28th January 2022

Releasing energy or simply taking delight in the movement itself ………Well, this is what happens during Dance Club at Braeburn Imani. The club teaches the importance of movement and fitness and dancers learn to coordinate their muscles to move through proper positions. They also learn how well they can work as a group or with a partner. We start off by doing a few warm up exercises to flex the muscles. Every week, the children choose a song from a different culture, listen to it and then add in some flavour through dance.

This week, the dancers showcased their creativity by choreographing their own moves for the ‘Waka Waka’ song which was famous during the 2010 world cup. They worked collaboratively, showcasing different dance moves and steps and at the end they were able to order the steps and had an amazing presentation.

At Braeburn Imani, we celebrate diversity in our pupils, including recognising their individual talents.
