At Braeside Thika, we are dedicated to shaping the innovators of tomorrow by introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts early in a child's educational journey. Our Early Years program is designed to inspire curiosity and creativity through engaging, hands-on activities that encourage problem-solving and exploration.
FS2 children at BTH had an opportunity to engage with magnetic shapes that provided them with an excellent opportunity to develop their understanding of geometry, engineering concepts, and problem-solving skills. By connecting pieces to create structures, the children explored the key principles such as balance, symmetry, and design. These hands-on and exploratory activities foster creativity and deepen their understanding of mathematical relationships, textures, patterns and physical forces like magnetism ; supporting critical thinking, creativity and foundational STEM learning in an interactive and engaging manner.
Why focus on STEM during early childhood? This approach not only fosters critical thinking and collaboration but also nurtures essential skills such as reasoning, communication, and persistence. These qualities serve as the foundation for lifelong learning and success. Children are naturally curious, and by channeling this curiosity into meaningful STEM experiences, we help them develop a love for discovery and innovation.
An interactive and exciting learning environment is key to preparing young minds for a rapidly evolving world driven by technology and innovation.
