SCOOPING UP FUN: ICE CREAM LOVERS

27th October 2023

In the world of early years, learning through play is paramount. What better way to do that than by creating an ice cream shop in your garden! This delightful and imaginative activity not only sparks creativity but also fosters social interaction and early math skills. An ice cream shop theme can be a deliciously educational experience for young learners.

Children in FS1 transformed their garden into an ice cream shop. They Set up a pretend ice cream counter with play money, scoops, and bowls. Every child was assigned a role - some were the ice cream scoopers, while others were the eager customers. They also took turns playing both roles. This encourages social skills and promotes cooperation.

There was a wide range of conversation made from counting cones, which flavour they like most, what kind of sprinkles they want, currency they will use to purchase and the cost of the ice cream cone. So, don't forget to scoop up some fun while learning in early years!
