Project Based Learning in Year 5

20th June 2026

"Project-Based Learning helps us solve real-world problems, think creatively and make learning meaningful by creating solutions that can be used beyond the classroom." Our Year 5 learners at Braeside Thika have been exploring Natural Disasters through Project-Based Learning (PBL). As they investigated natural disasters, weather patterns and environmental challenges, pupils worked collaboratively to solve real-world problems. They researched, designed and presented creative projects aimed at helping people understand and respond to geographical issues. Through this hands-on approach, students developed critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills. Most importantly, they discovered that learning goes beyond the classroom as they created meaningful solutions, shared innovative ideas and connected their studies to everyday life
