Poetry Club!

22nd January 2022

Poetry club has officially kicked off. The children in lower key stage 2 had a blast reading and dramatizing short school poems, disgusting poems, funny poems and creepy poems. We look forward this term to greater fun reciting, illustrating, writing, listening to poems…..the list is endless.

Poetry will not only improve our cognitive function but also help us reflect and discuss various ideas.

At Braeburn Imani, we encourage creativity, and a Poetry Club is a haven to our young learners with verbal-linguistic intelligence to express their creativity. We also strive to make them proud of their creative works by creating a ‘professional portfolio’ for any of their written work. As a club, we’re not just nurturing the young learners to become great artists, but also to appreciate the literary works of other poets.

With persistence, the club will soon have an anthology of poems written by Braeburn Imani pupils.

COBIS POETRY COMPETITION

The Poetry Club has been instrumental in promoting this year’s Cobis Poetry competition.

Every year, Braeburn Imani students participate in the global Cobis Poetry Competition. The competition brings together all international schools affiliated with COBIS. This year’s competition theme is “Staying Ahead”. Some lovely pieces of poetry have already been written ready for publication by COBIS.

It is a perfect start for our students to publish their written poems.
