PET VET !

Role play offers children the opportunity to engage in imaginative play that usually links to the learning areas in Early Years.
In FS2 at Braeside Thika,the children came up with a pet vet corner.They have taken on the role of veterinarians,caring for their pretend pets and diagnosing any 'illnesses' they may have.
They have also built up their vocabulary as they explore the pet vet corner and attend to soft toys.This has also helped to develop their communication and language skills as they interact with their Peers,use their imagination and creativity as they come up with scenarios and stories for their pretend play.
The pet vet corner links up most of the learning areas like understanding of the world around them as they learn the responsibilities of owning a pet and the importance of caring for animals and our environment.
