Pedal Power in EYFS! A Fun-Filled Bike Day for Our Young Learners

17th May 2025

In Braeside Thika, children in EYFS always have an exciting outdoor biking session every week! From balance bikes to pedal bikes, children explored riding on two wheels, developing physical skills and confidence along the way. From first-time riders to confident little cyclists, everyone has the chance to explore at their own pace. There are plenty of proud smiles, laughter and cheers as children push themselves to try something new and cheer on their friends.

This engaging session supports a number of EYFS learning goals, such as- Physical Development, where they Improve balance, coordination and gross motor skills through riding and navigating. Personal, Social & Emotional Development, which helps in building resilience, independence and cooperative play.

It is wonderful to see children showing such enthusiasm and determination. For many, this activity is not just about learning to ride—it is about trying something new, overcoming challenges and feeling proud of what they can do.
