Learning Through Play

2nd November 2024

Young children in Early Years make use of all of their senses to learn about the world around them. The best way for young children to experience use of all their senses is through play. It is through play that children at Braeside Thika get to explore, discover and understand the world around them. We have role-play corners, construction zones, cutting and sticking and water play stations set out around the learning area.

The children choose activities that interest them, which encourage creativity, problem solving, memory retention, concentration and social interaction. When children are free to select resources and imitate roles and experiences from everyday life, they are able to feel more confident and secure and life becomes predictable and familiar; becoming confident individuals!
