Children in FS2 at Braeside Thika had an exciting hands-on experience creating a volcanic eruption using simple experiments and a collection of resources they brought from home. This interactive activity culminated in a lively discussion about magma, lava, vents and chambers, deepening their understanding of how volcanoes work.
To enhance their learning, the school lab technician joined the session, satisfying their curiosity about how different substances react to create such thrilling effects. The children also watched educational videos, discovering that while volcanoes can be dangerous, they play a crucial role in shaping our planet. They form landforms like islands and mountains and create fertile grounds where new life can thrive.
These experiences ignite a passion for scientific explorations and provide fascinating insights into Earth's dynamic processes
