From Bubbles to Conclusions: Year 10 Put Acids to the Test

13th June 2026

Our Year 10 students turned theory into practice this week during an engaging, hands-on practical lesson exploring acids and their various chemical reactions. Just like analytical scientists, the students meticulously conducted a series of experiments-reaction of acids with metals, metal oxides, metal hydroxides and mental carbonate, capturing precise observations and recording their data with great care. It was fantastic to witness their enthusiasm as vibrant colour changes and effervescent reactions brought the curriculum to life.

Beyond the excitement of the practical work, students demonstrated excellent critical thinking skills by analyzing their results to draw sound, evidence-based scientific conclusions. Their impeccable laboratory conduct and passion for discovery made this a standout session, highlighting the incredible scientific curiosity we love to nurture at our school.
