Food is not just a source of sustenance; it is the foundation of our health and well-being. The choices we make when it comes to what we eat can have an impact on our physical and mental health.

Basic nutrition is essential to everyone and it is important for us to understand its impact on our bodies as it plays a vital role in maintaining our health.

Understanding basic nutrition helps us lead a healthy lifestyle as we would be aware of what to eat and what exercise to do to avoid being overweight which in turn could lead to lifestyle diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease.

During Food and Nutrition lessons students are taught the importance of eating a balanced diet which includes a variety of foods from all food groups, hoping this basic information will go a long way in promoting healthy individuals, culminating in a healthy nation in the future
