It’s always exciting to learn science in high school. Braeburn Imani’s approach to the study of science is hands-on, with learners understanding both theoretical and practical scientific concepts.
In Key Stage 3, we study science as a core subject before breaking it down into its constituent branches, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics in KS4.
We introduced the topics by reminding ourselves of the hazards and symbols in the laboratory. Science teacher (Mr Amollo) showed the learners different Acids and Alkali in the Laboratory and the hazard symbols on them and the learners explained the meaning of each hazard symbol.
We also learnt about the definition of acid and alkalis and how to identify if the chemical is an acid or alkali
It was amazing to learn about hazard symbols, acids and alkalis. This topic looks really fun. I learnt different types of hazard symbols like flammable, oxidation, radioactive E.T.C. I also learnt that acids are sour in taste and alkalis are bitter in taste.Today's lesson was really fun.
