Exploring construction and transport

15th November 2025

Braeside Thika Early Years learners had an exciting week exploring the themes of construction and transport through imaginative, hands-on play. Using a variety of materials from wooden trains and tracks to colourful building bricks and planks, The children worked together to design, build and explore how things move and connect.

As they constructed bridges, tracks and small buildings, the children developed their problem-solving, creativity and fine motor skills. They experimented with balance, cause and effect and teamwork, thereby discovering how their ideas could come to life through play.

This engaging activity also encouraged conversations as the children shared ideas, planned together, and proudly tested their creations. It was a joyful learning experience that combined exploration, communication, and critical thinking, the perfect blend of fun and learning in the Early Years!
