Enhancing learning in EYFS

In Early years, we emphasize the importance of integrating ICT in early childhood education. ICT in the EYFS framework is not about screen time but rather promoting purposeful play-based learning experiences. Through using and manipulating computing gadgets, young children extract knowledge and skills. This helps them to learn how to solve problems, enhance their creativity, and gain opportunities to explore, investigate and express themselves in a digital context. They also develop foundational skills like hand-eye coordination and logical thinking among others.
In FS1 this was enhanced as children engaged in use of simple programming toys such as remote control trucks, digital cameras, Binoculars and bee bots. There was communication and collaboration as they interacted with the toys . Alot of independence was also there as they picked and operated resources of their choice. It was play-based learning for them. What a lesson !
