In September of 2022, Braeburn Imani introduced Pearson BTEC International Level 2 qualifications in Information Technology at Year 10.
The extended Certificate level has a total of 6 units two of which are mandatory and Pearson set assignments while the other four are selected by the school. This certificate course has received great enthusiasm from the students who opted to take it.
Learners engage in a wide range of Information Technology including: Using IT to Support Information and Communication in Organisations , Data and Spreadsheet Modelling , Setting up a Technology System , Introduction to Computer Networking , Introduction to Programming , Introduction to Digital Graphics and Animation , Introduction to Website Development , Introduction to App Development , Introduction to Games Design and Introduction to Database Systems
In one of the units, Setting up a Technology System, the learners work so hard to produce a comprehensive installation plan for the installation of the hardware components, software installation and configuration that includes:
- a job sheet with a description of the tasks to be carried out
- resources including tools, hardware components and software to be installed
- safe working practices
