It is amazing how children come up with their own fabulous ideas during play. This can be enhanced by providing children with stimulating resources which capture their interests. In FS1, Children display their creativity and imaginative skills through construction. The train set is one of their favourite small world plays. They exchange ideas about making a train station, features like trees along the railway, bridges and some safety signs.  During construction, lots of learning takes place, children are able to make choices, think critically, work as a team with collaboration, solve problems, socialize and also strengthen the muscles in those little hands and fingers.  Children also develop stories which are superb for vocabulary-building that comes naturally when children play with train toys. Therefore, it is important we provide children with open -ended resources and sufficient time for them to explore and manipulate.
