A reader today, a leader tomorrow

19th September 2022

In Braeburn Imani, we nurture future leaders right from the onset of their studies. How do we do this in Early Years?... One of the skills we are learning this term is reading.

It is a valuable skill in our ever changing world. It avails understanding of the world to the child and sows seeds of imagination and creativity. Some of the benefits of reading is that children are able to show compassion and empathy, build different parts of the brain and grow curiosity and wonder in them.

The world of reading is filled with lots of creativity and excitement. At times reading aloud to children can build interest in books. A child will always look forward to positive bonding moments with an adult; these are special moments they tend to remember most as they grow older .

Keeping books within the childrens reach arouses their curiosity and interest. With the provision of books with different genres, children grow more interested in reading because they are sure of getting something new and exciting. A reader today, a leader tomorrow.
