Primary

Our Primary School teaches children aged 5 to 10 years (Key Stages 1 and 2). We have a holistic approach to learning, with equal emphasis on academics, music, sports, the arts, outdoor pursuits, and drama.

The play-based approach in Early Years gradually shifts over in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 to become more structured with daily timetabled lessons and periodic assessments. Specific core and foundation subjects are taught.

To further develop the children’s reading habits, children use different reading guides supported by banded book schemes and a range of books. They also attend weekly Library sessions.

Learners Enjoying Success

Assessment is continuous through target setting, project work, written assessments, and homework assignments. Children are encouraged to review their learning and next steps using a variety of taught strategies. Data from the assessments is used to celebrate children’s achievements, identify areas of development, and inform school-wide planning.
